Callbacks to the 3rd Series

1st & 2nd Series – Land Double with a Land Blind

102 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out this series on Saturday morning at 7:15 am, beginning with "Fancy," handled by Dave Kress and then "Morgan," handled by Tom Hawley.

The first running dog of this series was #13 AFC HARDCORE TROUBADOR, “Earl,” with handler John Russell. They came to the line at 7:48 am.


The weather to start this series was 54 degrees with overcast/cloudy skies and a light breeze coming from the East.

Here is how things turned out for the 1st & 2nd Series …

Our last running dog for this Series was a rerun for dog #10 
FC-AFC BLACKFOOT’S SITTIN’ ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY, “Otis,” with handler Thierry Mahon. They completed the test at 7:31 pm.

102 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 11 hours and 43 minutes, which averages out to be just less than 7 minutes per dog. 

We will be moving on to the 3rd Series Tomorrow! Callbacks to come - we will post them on the blog as soon as we have them!

F – Up the hill for a hunt but he got it!

RR – Drove out and up the hill and found his bird.

B – 1 quick whistle up front - 1 more past the tree and through the gap - 1 more to get the bird.

Kobe and Sammie came back to the line at 7:20 pm (4th time to the line!)

F – A few loops to the left and then to the right and onto the bird.

RR – Went deep - up the hill and then came back down and located his bird.

B – 1 whistle to go through the slot and 3 more to the end.








12. FC-AFC HUNTLEIGH’S QUINTESSA, “Tessa,” BLF, Bruce Ahlers

Tessa and Bruce came to the line at 7:12 pm

F – out to the fall area - had a couple loops and she was on to her bird.

RR – Lined up the middle and then to the bird!

B – 4 whistles trying to get the dog left to the slot - missed it - a couple more whistles to the end and the bird.

F – Very nice job!

RR – Left of the bales and drove to get his bird!

B – 3 whistles before the tree - carried this through the slot - 1 more at the bushes to the bird.

 Otis and Thierry came to the line and had a No-Bird, they will be back at the end.

Mogan and Rodger came to the line at 6:57 pm

F – A few large loops under the arc before going to the left and grabbing his bird.

RR – A loop to the right and slightly up the hill, then back down to his bird.

B – 1 whistle before the slot and one at the end.

F – Hunted several loops in the middle of the arc and over farther left - a few more loops to get the bird.

RR – Good line out and a loop to the right and then up the hill - a couple more loops back to the bird - got it!

B – 1st whistle near the end -  a couple more to get the bird.

F – Straight to the bird!

RR – Left of the bales - up the road and then back to his bird.

B – 2 whistles to get through the slot - 2 at the bushes for the bird.

RR – Out to the blind - stayed in front - drove the hill and got it!

B – 1st whistle to get past the tree - a 2nd whistle and got wide right and deep before he got the bird.

F – Went to the fall area and then right to his bird.

RR – Line was slightly right of the bird, turned around and went over and down the hill to the bird.

B – 1 whistle right before the slot - another to go through the slot and a couple at the end to get the bird.

F – Hunted the hillside both left and right - but he worked it out and got his bird.

RR –  Went left of the bales - up the road - back to the blind and then drove the hill and worked it out to located his bird.

B – Lined to the slot - 1 whistle to get through the slot - and 1 more whistle at the bushes for the bird.

F – Took a beautiful line to his bird.

RR – Took a right line out - cut up in front of the blind and drove the hill - got it!

B – Lined all the way to the bush - 1 whistle and he had the bird.

RR – Line was wide right towards the pond - then he headed left and up the hill - came back down and to his bird.

F – Out to the fall area - a couple quick turns and she got it!

RR – Wide right - cut back to the left and stayed in front of the guns - to the far side and turned up hill - drove the hill and she got her bird.

B – 1 whistle before the tree to tighten the line through the slot - several whistles at the end for the bird.
